Panasonic unveils it's Blu-ray recorder in Japan next week
Panasonic is going to offer it's own Bluray recorder next week. Although we don't know how much it is going to cost yet, you can figure it won't be cheap. The only other one out there for reference is made by Sony and you can expect to shell out nearly 3 thousand dollars for the device.

The new machine is being launched to capture consumer demand for recording of high-definition television coverage of this year's Olympic Games, which begin on August 11, Matsushita says. The new recorder will be unveiled on June 30 in Tokyo.

Japanese public broadcaster NHK (Nippon Hoso Kyokai) is planning extensive coverage of the Olympics including 280 hours of live and recorded coverage in high definition via digital satellite.

With the Olympic games being held in Greece, the time difference in Japan is enough to require the events to be recorded. With the Blu-ray machine, you can capture the whole extravaganza in high definition detail. Those interested in this technology should keep an eye on our Satellite, HD-TV, Blu-ray and HD-DVD Forum.
