Pioneer announces DVR-S502 - external 4x DVD-R writer
The French website PresencePC.com reports that Pioneer will be launching an external model of their recently announced Pioneer A05/105 DVD-R writer. The drive is based on the same parts as this writer and writes DVD-R discs at 4x, DVD-RW at 2x, CD-R at 16x and CD-RW at 8x. The drive uses FireWire to connect to your computer.Source: PresencePC.com

If it doesn't write to DVD+R,RW also why would anyone buy it over the Sony?
