Pioneer announces external slim-type DVD writer

The Pioneer DVR-SK11B-J is a new external USB 2.0 DVD writer in the same size as notebook drives. The DVD writer features 2x/2x DVD-R/RW write speed and 16x/8x CD-R/RW write speed as well as 24x/8x CD/DVD-ROM read speed:

Ricoh has also announced an external slim-type DVD writer, the MP8160P-DP, at CeBIT last week with similar specifications but for the DVD+R/RW format: 2.4x/2.4x DVD+R/RW, 16x/8x CD-R/RW and 24x/8x CD/DVD-ROM.
You can expect to see both drives in internal notebook versions too.
