Plextor Europe releases new firmware for PX-W4012TA


Plextor Europe has send us the message that they have now also the new firmware for the PX-W4012TA available on their website. Plextor Japan already had it available (See this posting). Here is the changelog:


Fixed Bugs:

  • Disc written on 440BX chipset systems may cause problems on PX-40TS
  • Hang-up during CD-RW erase
  • Hang-up during copy of Mixed Mode CD by means of Easy CDCreator V5.1.1.102

    Added:

  • Support for newer CD-R media (Tayo Yuden 40X, Verbatim 40X)
  • Support for latest Orange Book Part2 Vol2 V1.1 specification

    Improvements:

  • CD initialise performance: less rotation noise
  • Write performance for various discs, types and speeds


  • Also the supported media list has been updated.

    According to the reactions on the Japanese firmware posting it also fixes some problems with backuping up CDs protected by certain copy protections.
