Plextor updates beta firmware 1.04 for PX-716A DVD recorder

Recently Plextor Japan released a beta firmware on their website for the PX-716 DVD recorder. The firmware allowed users to burn DVD-R dual layer discs at 2 speed but disabled functions like GigaRec, SecuRec and VariRec. Todays Zahni posted a thread in our Plextor Forum with a link to a new beta firmware for this drive.

What exactly is new in this firmware is unknown but it seems that it improves compability with some media. If you like to learn more about this firmware update then we suggest to read the forum thread in our Plextor Forum.
