Prodisc certified for 16x DVDR discs from Pioneer and for 8x DVD-R discs from DVD Forum

GristyMcFisty used our news submit to tell us that Prodisc has obtained certification for its 16x DVD+R/-R discs from Pioneer and an A Grade Lab certification for its 8x DVD-R discs from the DVD Forum according to an article on Digitimes.com.

Prodisc claimed that it is the first Taiwan company to obtain the certifications, which are expected to help the firm compete for OEM orders, the company added.

According to local makers of optical discs, OEM prices stand at about US$0.35 for 8x DVD-R discs and about US$0.45 for 16x DVD-R discs

Digitimes adds that Prodisc is the third largest DVD recordable manufacturer in Taiwan. Discuss Prodisc Media in our Media Forum.

I've always found Prodisc to be good quality.

Let's hope they get some dual layer media out soon.
who cares about 16x media!!
Dual Layer Media is more important to get populated at the moment
I have to agree with the above, Dual Layer top priority.
DL rewritable would also be nice. That and the constant speed increases on both the plus and dash RW and DL formats should keep DVD engineers busy for the next couple of years at least.
with the material used in rw i dun think it's possible to have a DL RW
