Thanks to Quema34 for writing in with the full following submit: This is a perfect example of the pathetic to
non-existent reasoning skills behind the RIAA: avoid compilations strictly on basis they're probably pirated and somehow all pirated copies sound 'atrocious'? IF pirated copies were that lousy consistently, there would be enough 'underground' word-of-mouth that no one would buy 'illegal' copies if the quality was so awful. That said, certainly there are some really lousy copies floating around in places like Colombia (where I have a reliable source that tells me about this), although there are also VERY high quality copies sold as well. Generally, the RIAA (in the few true raids that nabbed true 'pirates') has discovered that 'pirated' copies are generally very high quality reproductions from high-volume operations that use burners in tower units to mass produce from the original (as was found in one of the few major busts in NY).
The RIAA MUST be living in the "Twilight Zone" to be so inept in its reasoning and so-called "anti-piracy" efforts, as evidenced by such a pathetic ad and such numerous, frivolous lawsuits that make a mockery of the concepts of legal discovery (as well as the legal system in general).
