Samsung first with 240Hz LCD prototype
Samsung has announced that they've developed the world's first 240Hz LCD panel and promises that it will offer more natural moving images. A 15" Blue Phase LCD Panel will be unveiled at the Society for Information Display (SID) in Los Angeles.
“Our Blue Phase Mode is a major evolutionary development beyond conventional liquid crystal modes. Samsung’s development of this technology provides a tremendous opportunity to move image quality of LCD screens much closer to that of a real moving image,” said Executive Vice President Souk Jun-hyung.
Samsung expects to start mass-producing its Blue Phase LCD in 2011.
