It was announced today that Sonic helped Sony with adding new BD Live capabilities to Blu-ray's Scenarist authoring platform. Sonic Solutions promised that the upgrade will support more interactivity and will help developers when creating interactivity. The two expect all of this to cause the availibility of connected-content to grow, which will mean consumer adoption to speed up. Besides the adoption to grow, consumers will have better reasons since there will be more BD-Live features available, the two believe.
“Sony’s extensive knowledge of the BD specification combined with Sonic’s experience in providing solutions for online interactive content will help significantly boost BD Live title production.” At the National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas Sonic is exhibiting the new version of Scenarist.
Rolf Hartley, general manager at Sonic, said that he expects the BD Live developments to provide customers with 'a dynamic and always current entertainment experience'.
