Sonic signs multi year agreement with Real Networks

Honestly, I haven't used Realplayer in years now as I found it to be pretty bloated. And while it isn't already lacking functionality (or does it?) they have added more functionality to it. RealNetworks has integrated Sonic AuthorScript DVD burn technology into the new version of the RealPlayer, enabling you to  burn personal content and online digital media entertainment files that are not DRM protected to CD or DVDs.

Of course, *ahem* the new RealPlayer recognizes DRM video protection systems and does not copy DRM-protected content.

Nice deal for our friends from Sonic, but I'm curious, would this seduce you to visit the Realnetwork site and download their player?

Nice to see a post which isn't just yet another regurgitated press release. Just like the good ole' days of CD-F.

CDanJust what we need, another background process running and even more potentially conflicting burning software running in the background. Where do I sign up? Wink

I still remember the awful decision by the bbc to make a contract with realplayer back in the day when video was just coming out on the internet. Thank god they changed to windows media player, realplayer is just a virus imo. Total bloatware.
