The Japanese can now enjoy circular media centers that have been added to Sony's Vaio TP1 product line. Both systems use the Windows Vista operating system and the more expensive model also has a Blu-ray burner.
The VGX-TP1D has an Intel 2,1GHz T8100 Core 2 Duo CPU and 2GB memory, a 320GB HDD and a Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT graphic card. The round casing also holds a chipset for Wifi, a dual layer DVD burner and HDMI and VGA outputs.

The more expensive VGX-TP1DQ has a 500GB HDD and a Blu-ray burner. Both systems have a build-in TV tuner and a wireless keyboard. You are also able to connect USB devices to the four USB ports and the media center also has a firewire output.
The media centers come with software to make it as easy as possible to record TV shows. The VGX-TP1D costs 150.000 yen, about 885 Euro's, while the VGX-TP1DQ will costs you 200.000 yen, which is about 1180 Euro's. It's unknown if the media centers will also be available to customers outside of Japan.
