Sony has announced a new DVD based camcorder with 1080p HD recording quality. The new camcorder is called the Sony HDR-UX20. A new encoding system that brings back balance between image definition and file size makes this a good product.
The HDR-UX20 uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video codec which makes it compatible to many third party editing software. A Carl Zeiss Sonnar lens, support for 8 centimeter of dual layer DVD recording, a media card and 8GB of memory make this a neat camcorder.
Sony has priced the HDR-UX20 for $1000.
