Sony invests $204 million in OLED production

Sony has announced that they will invest a total of $204 million in the development of OLED production technologies. The Japanese company wants to expand its technologies for 10-inch up screens and panels. The investment's goal is to start OLED production in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010.

Earlier this year Sony already launched sales of an 11W OLED TV through 40 SonyStyle stores. But, as the company likes to put it... 'It's an expensive toy for people at this point.'

Let's hope that this money injection ($204 million) makes the 'toy' a bit more payable for the majority.
