Sony has send us a press release announcing the Sony Bravia V4000 series LCD TVs. These LCD TVs support full HD picture quality and are available at 40,46 and 52 inch. Other screen sizes will be available from later this year.
The Bravia 4000 series features looks inspired by Sony’s draw the LINE design concept. Sony claims this to be a minimalist philosophy that accentuates the beautiful HD pictures being displayed without dominating your living space, even at larger screen sizes.
The TVs feature an integrated DVB-C/DVB-T tuner, three HDMI sockets, Bravia ENGINE 2 technology which Sony claims gives an unmatched richness and depth. The LCD panel offers a dynamic contrast ratio of 33000:1 (40-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch models).

The TVs also feature 24p True Cinema mode. This displays movies from Blu-ray Discs at the correct frame rate and thus the original speed. When the movie is not shown at the speed of the original studio master the picture quality and even the actors’ voices are distorted. 24p True Cinema eliminates this traditional problem caused by the conversion from theatrical presentation format to the frame rate that conventional televisions use.
