Sony packs Full HD in tiny titanium camcorder

Sony Australia has announced "the world's most compact Full HD camcorder", the Handycam HDR-TG1. The small camcorder measures 32 x 119 x 63 mm and weighs 300 grams. The camera records in 1920x1080 and takes 4 megapixel pictures supported by a camera flash light around the ring of the lens.

A 10x optical zoom, the company's Super Steady Shot image stabilisation and a zoom microphone should give you the best home videos. A face detection function remembers the faces on the thumbnail images and can easily fast forward to where those faces appear in your movie. “As the leader in high definition camcorders, Sony is always looking to develop its range of camcorders whilst being innovative in form and functionality,” said Sony Australia Handycam senior product manager, Di Shepherd, to Current.com.au.

This light-weight camcorder will be available in Australia tommorow at a requested price of $1,599.

DukeNukem"the Handycam HDR-TG1, which uses Sony’s Memory Stick Duo flash media, measures 32 x 119 x 63 mm and weighs 300 grams. Aside from shooting in 1920x1080, it takes up to four megapixel still images and incorporates a unique camera flash light around the ring of the lens. It also has a 10x optical zoom, Sony’s Super SteadyShot image stabilisation and a zoom microphone that records in 5.1 channel for surround sound home movies." So, to recap, it's very small, does full HD, has image stabilisation, zoom mic, and records in 5.1. Who do we know that could use that kind of a camcorder? Movie pirates? Nooo. Wink
