Sony has had to pull its firmware 2.40 upgrade for the PS3 less than an hour after release after complaints that it was turning the consoles into expensive bricks.
Complaints flooded in after people complained of multiple problems with the upgrade. The most dramatic was that the console seemed to get itself stuck while booting.
The problem could be cured by formatting the hard drive, but that isn't for the faint-hearted.
Sony claims that the faulty upgrade only hurt a small number of users.

Yeah, erm - problem is you don't actually do battle with 'Sony haters'. All you do is come in here and drop a few pointless comments about nothing in particular. Not once have I EVER seen a decent counter-argument or constructive comment from you.

Gee I wonder if it had anything to do with DRM crap in the firmware upgrade, as we have seen in the past similar problems caused by DRM .
Must of worked good as you cant copy anything with a useless expensive brick
And that is why I will not buy ANYTHING that restricts my rights with what I buy just so some greedy company can make extra profits.
Once again Sony give their victims, oops sorry customers more problems.
