Super Talent ships world thinnest SSD

Super Talent Technology is a company known for their Flash storage solutions and DRAM memory modules. Now the company has launched their newest flagship, the world's slimmest 256GB solid state drive. "We designed this drive for applications that need rugged and reliable storage in a very compact form factor. This is the world’s smallest and thinnest 256GB SSD," said Super Talent Marketing Director, Joe James.

The FSD56GC25H uses an industry standard 2.5-inch hard drive form factor and a SATA-I interface, which makes it interchangeable with conventional 2.5-inch SATA hard drives. This slim product uses Super Talent's patented stacking technology, which is able to pack large amounts of solid state drive storage in a small and slim case. The product's unique selling point is its size and with only being 12.5mm thick we must say it's small... The company believes that this SSD is 40% thinner than any other 256GB SSD available.

Ofcourse just being slim isn't enough these days, you've to be fast. The FSD56GC25H drive supports 0.1ms access time and has a maximum of 65MB/sec sequential reading speed, and 50MB/sec of sequential writing speed. Super Talent knows that being fast and slim is important for some women, so its SSD supports up to 1600G of shock and 16G of vibration. ;)

"This product underscores our leadership in high density SSDs and demonstrates the technical capabilities of our Silicon Valley engineering team," Mr. James added.

SSDs aren't really going to be newsworthy until the companies are no longer afraid to put the MSRP into the press release.
