Swedish P2P insurer will pay your fines if RIAA sues: $19/year!
RTV71 used our news submit to tell us about this! I guess it is pretty darn clever, as the odds
of getting busted are slim. However, for 19 dollars a year, this brings a nice
piece of mind. What a brilliant idea, wish I had thought of it. You can check
out the article at it's source, by visiting Boing Boing.

Until they also offer to send someone to do your Bird (time) if sent to prison as well as fine, then I'm not interested in their insurance..
besides they will most probably have something in the small print, to get out of paying..:

I wish something like this were available in the USA.

they wont send u to jail for downloading.
it is not like kiiling of "shoplifting", and they dont send you to jail for first offense.
i will pay these 19 euro to cover my ass...

I wonder if they write on the t-shirt:
I got busted for filesharing ...and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.

Wait, so if caught you don't get to go to a minimum security resort?

I wonder if they plan to offer premium cover where, instead of paying the settlement, they pay you to fight the bastards in court.
_That_ would be worth paying a little extra for.

Would "crime insurance" be legal for other fine-only crimes such as speeding, for example pay extra on your car insurance and they will pay your speeding tickets.
