Toshiba improves performance of its combo drive, SD-R1312
This morning I found a press release in my mailbox from Toshiba's Storage Device Division in which they announce their latest combo drive, the SD-R1312.
This CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive supports CD-R recording speeds of 32x and re-write speeds of 10x. Reading of normal CD(-R)s is done at 40x while reading of DVDs can be done at 12x maximum:

According to the press release the combo drive is now shipping to OEM and customers and distribution channels. The SD-R1312 combo upgrade kit will cost $130.
