"TrustyFiles Leaps Ahead Of Morpheus As Multiple P2P Network Software Leader With Kazaa Network Searches" is the headline over at Music Industry News. So why haven't I heard about it? Next, a trip over to Fileforum at BetaNews and there it is again atop of the list for March 9, with only a couple comments and less that 100 downloads. Strange, you would think a software this popular would have a plethora of positive comments. Of course, I guess you can "leap ahead" and that doesn't mean anyone is actually using your product.

TrustyFiles now searches and share files with the Kazaa, Gnutella, and Gnutella 2 file sharing networks. RazorPop founder and CEO Marc Freedman said "TrustyFiles is known for two things. First is superior speed and results. Second is no spyware or other bundled software, unlike Morpheus and Kazaa. Today we add a third key feature. TrustyFiles 2.1 takes file sharing software to the next level with multiple network access, including the Fast Track network used by Kazaa and Grokster. Why would anyone settle for P2P software that's slow, saddled with other software, and limited to only one network? "We thank Morpheus for popularizing the concept of multiple P2P network access. But it's not their own code and it shows. Morpheus uses MLDonkey, which was primarily developed for Linux and runs as a daemon program. In comparison we architected TrustyFiles for end-to-end performance. We developed it internally. The multi-network engine core is totally ours, totally Windows, and totally tuned for our users' computer environment. That's why TrustyFiles speed and results are superior." |
But, it is adware though, according to Fileforum. The TrustyFiles program does include some handy features too, rom the Website:" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >from the Website:
"Share files in total confidence with your friends with Private File Sharing. You won't be connected to the P2P networks. So other P2P users can't run searches to find and download your files. The only people who will have access to your files are your friends when you send them a TrustyLink. TrustyFiles features a Private File Sharing profile option that sets up your software in one click.
Further exploration of Razorpop reveals a weird corner of the net called the DiaRIAA page. It's main purpose, aside from poking a sharp stick in Mitch Brainwols eye, is to collect the checks from the recent price fixing suit and donate them to the EFF. Sure enough, there is a link on the EFF page back to TrustyFiles in their donation section.
If anyone has some experience with this software, or this company, maybe they will share what they know in our Music Downloads, P2P and Legal Issues Forums.
