According to a news published at
HEMSCOTT, Plasmon is facing economical problems due to a decrease of UDO sales.
Ultra Density Optical (UDO), developed by Plasmon, is an optical storage technology based on blue lasers purposely suited to manage large amounts of data for large corporations and government agencies. Main advantages of this technology are longevity, large capacity, expandable memory capability, and a 50-year plus lifespan helps minimizes need to upgrade, virtually eliminating media maintenance, and lowering long-term costs.
Sales seems to be uncertain also for the next generation UDO2 technology, so the big challenge for the group now is to ensure successful sales and marketing execution for UDO2.
