Unlimited legal downloading for 1 US Dollar

Last month we reported about Weblisten thanks to Redd Ears. Today he tipped us again about an english version of Weblisten.

On the 21st of February I tipped you about Weblistens BonoNight subscription. At that time it was available at the Spanish website only.

Now WebListen has released BonoNight at their English webpage too. Guess what? It has even become cheaper. Only 1 US dollar for 8 hours of inlimited downloading.

I really don't know how they can keep this up, but it sure is one great way to get your full albums.

You can check the english site here. At the mainpage there seem to be quite some populair songs from eg. Alanis Morissette, Shakira, Pink, Lopez, Iglesias and much much more. Didn't check the whole site but it definately looks good at first sight!

This isn't really that fair. For guys on T1's or 100Mb/s connections this equals hundreds of albums. For guys on a 56k this equals one album pretty much. Seems a bit of an unfair way of doing it. They should do something a bit more fair like give everyone say 1Gig of music that they can get so that the guys on slower speeds can still get it even if it takes them a little longer.

Redneckif they don't cap the speed per connection... then it doesn't matter if you have 1gbit or 10mbit =) hopefully they don't... hmmm actualy, don't care =)

Well, one dollar doesn't seem like much. However, it is still one more dollar than free. Hmmm, I'll stick to free file sharing programs.

i think this is a good method to get money,i mean, 1 dollar aint gonna break the bank,so it's a good idea, but is anyone seriously gonna do this when there are lots of file sharing programs where you can get all your MP3 albums for free?

Guys, how can you all say this? Everyone's reason for the P2P sharing appz is because the music costs too much, and if it was cheaper you'd buy it. If you aren't willing to pay $1, then you really are just a bunch of pirates. Especially you guys on the faster connections. I understand Nila's concern as I'm a 56 user myself. If we don't support some company, the RIAA is going to say that we don't want fair prices, we want to steal, which the above postings almost seem to suggest in of themselves. Please tell me this isn't true.

I think it is true, Most of the ppl have became used to getting music 4 free, so why would they start paying now? As 4 myself, I think 1 dollar/8hours is very cheap if there is a lot of music available, but I think I'll still stick in buying the records I want from the nearest music store, It might be expensive but hey, atleast I get the tunes with very good quality Smilie Hi-Fi 4 Life...

Great idea, but the web site sucks. I tried it out last night and I don't think I'll do it again. No right-click-save-as downloading. The only way I was able to get the mp3s was to go into my cache and copy the files into another directory. Besides the hassle of actually getting the files, their file naming convention is horrid (thetitleofthesongwithnospacesandalllowercase), many files are missing ID3s, and the ones that do have them have the artist name in ALL CAPS and no track number. It's going to take me a while to fix up the 173 files (851mb) that I downloaded, even with MP3 collector. The only redeeming thing about the site is their selection.

Subfuze. 851mb of top mp3's for one dollar and you are still complaining? Man this WebListen is a great thing. A few tips for downloading. 1) Disable the mp3 support in Windows Media Player. This will prevent the downloading to a Temporary Folder. 2)Use MP3 Internetrenamer http://www.mp3ir.com/ to rename the files and tags. Happy downlaoding Smilie
