Verbatim Warns of Unauthorised Supply of DVDs by Laser Corporation
(August 23, 2007) Verbatim Corporation has concerns regarding the unauthorized supply in Australia by Laser Corporation Holdings Pty Ltd of some Laser brand 16X DVD's which use MID codes of Verbatim or its related companies. Disk identification shows that these Laser brand 16X DVD's are not from production facilities approved by Verbatim or its related companies and so may be of different quality or performance as disks from production facilities approved by Verbatim or its related companies.

Verbatim is without any responsibility for the quality or performance of these Laser brand 16X DVD's.

In addition, Laser's supply of these 16X DVD's in Australia may infringe copyright.
Verbatim and its related companies reserve their legal rights in respect to the supply in Australia by Laser of these 16X DVD's.

cd pirateHah! I see tons of this "laser" crap in plenty of stores. Never knew they faked verbatims code. They look to be VERY low quality. I would never bother buying any.

"Laser" branded media sold in Oz is complete and utter shite. Total garbage and great coaster material. If I was Verbatim, I would also be very pissed that this dodgy mob are using media codes that are not related to their company in any way.

I seem to remember this coming up back in the early part of 2007 from Verbatim. Sounds like the "fakers" are at it again..

Forgetting how absurd it is to claim copyright on a MID. Verbatim has bigger problems than worring about people tarnishing their good name by selling substandard 16x blanks, Verbatim shopuld be more concerned about the 16x blanks they are selling. I have two spindles of (presumably Prodisc) 16x DVD-R that I wont use...
