Verbatim announces new LightScribe DVD+R in five metallic colours
After introducing the current Golden colour, Verbatim announced today the availability of new LightScribe DVD+R in five metallic colours: Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue and Green. The new metallic tones show off the printable label side of the discs to a greater extent and make for more vivid and varied presentation.

In addition, an update for the LightScribe system software allows even more brilliant results. The new Verbatim LightScribe DVD+R discs are available from December and cost €4.99 for 5 discs in a slim case (RRP).

Moreover, Verbatim will offer the Golden LightScribe CD-R, with proven AZO quality, on a spindle holding 25 discs for €10.49 (RRP).

High resolution pictures of the new media are available here.

Great a bunch of single color disks. How does this help me print full color labels for my disc media? And do the new colors speed up the 20-30 minute wait for the LightScribe to print? I just can not understand why anyone would settle for a LightScribe disc labeler. May I suggest the new DiscPainter disc labeling device? It prints full color 600 dpi labels directly on a disc in 60 seconds. 1200 dpi in 3 minutes. I did the LightScribe and will never go back.
