WD lets you expand DVR storage space
wners of DVRs (digital video recorders) already know that data storage capacity is never enough, mostly for High Definition contents. Western Digital announced a new entry in its product line, the My DVR Expander, an external hard disk drive featuring a USB connection.

According to the official announcement, these drives are verified compatible with DISH Network Corporation's ViP Series HD DVRs.

To reduce noise (not really a pleasant thing when you watch TV) a passive cooling system has been designed. With no active parts running, this drive features also a lower power consumption.

The My DVR Expander USB Edition is currently available in USA at a MSRP of $149.99 USD for the 500 GB model.
