Warner's separation plan: Delaying two movies

With Warner staying with HD DVD untill May the first steps of the divorce are showing. After the announcement of Blu-ray's exclusivity, Warner also stated that HD DVD releases will follow their Blu-ray releases by a short window.

The studio now officially delayed two titles. 'The invasion' and 'The assassination of Jesse James' will follow the Blu-ray release after a three-week-delay. These titles are the first to be affected by Warner's switch, but the studio openly stated that we can expect a delay for all HD DVD and DVD titles.

I was reading an article about movies yesterday.... the two movies being delayed are the two biggest box office disasters of 2007. I have seen 'The assassination of Jesse James' and I would say it being released on any media type is a mistake. Wink

They should delay the blu ray releases UNTIL THE SPEC IS ACUTUALLY FINAL AND NOT CHANGING. Early blu-ray adopters and non-PS3 blu-ray owners are screwed because their players cannot be updated to the new blu-ray 2.0 spec coming this fall. And blu-rays stance is: "early adopters knew what they were getting into." They actually recommend that if you want a future-proof blu-ray player then get a PS3 because any others will not up upgradeable to BD 2.0 spec. Suckers! Thanks Blu ray association, thanks Sony A-holes.

FidelC"However, apart from the PS3, it is not possible to upgrade the earlier profile 1.0 players to profile 1.1." - from the previous news post. A-holes indeed supergrin

Blu-ray is still BETA technology. How those blockheads at Warner decided to support Sony's incomplete HD format will never really be known. They will pay dearly for supporting Sony's proprietary crap.
