The Xbox 360 is sold out in Japan right now according to what I can read on the Interwebs. So, it's either a Wii or a PS3...now what would you buy? The Ninntendo Wii is a lot of fun for families and you actually have to get off your dead ass to play it. I like it. The graphics may not be as fancy as a PS3- but they are classy and funny too. I like the smoke around a players head when they miss ashot in tennis.

I wonder how much pressure an additional price cut will but on Sony in the future.  Nintendo will continue to do what its doing with the Wii and not worry about the other two, especially since Nintendo's sales numbers are so high.  But Sony, in my opinion, doesn't have any more room to give to Microsoft if they manage to ship a console for under $200.

Either way, it looks like this holiday shopping season will again be a nice one for console gamers -- even people new to console gaming!

The Wii is attracting a large customer base because it is cheap, they have exclusive games that are actually FUN and  it is focused on one thing: gaming.

Personally, when I looked at the options, I wanted to get the most bang for my buck, so the PS3 was the clear choice for me. The most powerful hardware, the best graphics, great games, online connectivity & gaming, media streaming, a Blu-ray player and more! From my perspective, it was no contest.

The Wii is for the casual gamer and is not going to supply the hardcore games for hardcore gamers...Thus PS3 and even Xbox will sell more consoles in this generation then the Wii

Maybe a long ass ways down the road, when 8th gen consoles are already out and by then whocares. Nintendo makes more per console then either of the other 2 systems. So not only is it selling more, but they are making more per console sold.

PS3 the most powerful hardware ? Er, no. Read comments made by John '3D God' Carmack about the PS3 - he certainly doesn't think so. Quit with the illusion that the PS3 is 'better' - it's not, technically.

I honestly don't know how they sell so many units, I haven't seen a single Wii console in the stores for nearly 5 months now.

And recently one of the stores is doing some sort of drawing to give 5 people a chance to buy the Wii console.

Several people I've talked to tell me they've either resold their Wii, or it's just sitting in the corner, collecting dust.

Which console has more power then? The Cell processer is untapped thus far and when game developers finally get the full use of it we will truly see it's potential. Untill then it still has better graphics and features than any of the other consoles. That in it's self makes the most powerful console out.

The wii is a great buy over all the consols as you don't just sit there and wait and push buttons only.

WTF is this about??? All retailers in North America are on Nintendo's AUTO REPLEN program .. Only European and Asian Retailers can order what they want this has been like this since the WII release.. No, that is not the case. It is certainly not the 'most powerful' console on the market. And where are the hi-def resolutions that Sony were so excited about ? GTA on the PS3 runs at a lower res than the 360, and upscales to give a pseudo anti-aliasing effect.... oh dear (that's just one example).

When the PS3 was first released, all developers thought it was tough to program for, because it was a brand new platform that no one was familiar with! Fast forward to this year and many developers are saying that the PS3 is now easier to program for, with more support coming from Sony.

To explain how te ATM- Phone works.. When I bought my phone you get a 12 digit number that is the number you use at the ATM to add money to your cell phone.. next all you need is a bank account (used my cousins) thats it..You will never see that option here period!!!!! No, Rage will NOT look like 's**t' on the 360 - it just has more compressed textures. Blu-ray is a storage medium, and they'll overcome that problem for the 360 in due course. I don't own a console, but if I did I'd go with a 360, for lots of reasons I won't go into here. Plus, I was talking about GTA, not Rage. Rage isn't out yet, and won't be for some time. If you also read the article, Carmack also says that the 360 hardware architecture is superior to the PS3. Enough said methinks, considering PS3 is using an old nvidia gfx chipset, whilst the one in the 360 has a later generation ati solution (if you want to compare them), using something similar to DirectX9.5, and a seperate anti-aliasing buffer chip. Personally, I'm not bothered, but would like to put you in your place with regard to 'tech specs'. I'll be playing Rage on my uber PC, it'll be cool.

It is true that dollar is weak and businesses are switching to ship their product to EU instead to US. It's pure business, they see more profit in the EU. But it is not due to the mentality of US customers in returning products to store for whatever reasons. It's bigger than that. Try to learn basic economics first before you write something serious like that. Your analysis isbased just on small problems, ie Nintendo NAR and charge up phones from ATM? lol.

Ten years ago the return policy is only for a month and not until a few years ago big chains like Walmart and Target extend their return policy to 3 months. You think if US customers are assholes and returning products everytime, the stores will cut their return policy from 30 days to a week then why walmart or target extend their return policy instead?

ATM banking is so old news. Even the poorest countries in Asia have ATM banking which is parallel with Online Banking. Most poor countries prefer ATM since they don't have to pay the expensive hi-speed internet. Most of people there uses 56kb modem so ATM is faster. But where you can do online banking, why would you walk in a snowy road or under the sun just to pay your phone, gas or electricity, when you can do everything in front of PC with online banking? Although having ATM everywhere is a good thing in case you need to charge your phone, but here you are forced to plan ahead of time, charge your phone before going on vacation, pay your bills a week before etc. And what this got to do with Wii outsell PS3 in Japan. LOL

Simple math fool diesel costs $2/L there.. we pay here $1.28L here in Canada for gasoline.. As any smart person knows diesel has more power and gets you more km so who is really paying more then lets see on a minivan..  most vans here get around 11-15 L/ 100 KM the same damn van from the same company ( chrysler or Gm) gets 6L/ 100 km Diesel. Why does Chrysler sell their vans only on diesel and 1.8L engines for the euro market?? so we are paying way more for driving. it's not about the fuel prices, it's how many km you get to the tank 30L -50 L tanks.. by the way everything i have mentioned here on these posts have not been answered here to even 10% properly by anyone. This clearly indicates that lack of tech information is lacking here.
