Yamaha CRW-70 Spyder USB 2.0 CDRW Review...

On Game PC we find a review of the Yamaha CRW-70 Spyder USB 2.0 CD-ReWritable. This new Yamaha "Spyder" CDRW has been especially build for USB 2.0. It supports 12X writing, 8X re-writing and 24X reading. Of course this wouldn't be possible without the USB 2.0 interface.

It's hard not to like the Spyder, in that it uses cool new technology, it's sleek, it's fast, and it just plain looks good. The Spyder without a doubt, puts every other external CD-writer on the market to shame. 12x burning, on the go! How can you go wrong. Yamaha obviously put a lot of thought into the Spyder, and it's certainly paid off. It's a great little drive.

Considering this is a Yamaha drive, which we've always considered to be sub-par compared to Plextor, the CRW-70 Spyder has obviously won me over. Any time a company takes an innovative approach to a conventional product always gets a thumbs up in my book, which is exactly what Yamaha is done here. Let's hope the Spyder line continues with faster drives in the future, as it certainly has a lot of promise.

It sure sounds promising. You can read all the ups and downs in the 7 pages long review at Game PC. Anyone that already had some experiences with this drive?
