Again as promised the interface is very simple and almost self explanatory.

The source drop down menu is used to select which drive the DVD movie being backed up is in.

Using the Film Options area you can save the complete DVD with all extras, menus and sound tracks. Or preferably you can select just the feature film. Backing up an entire dual layer movie onto a regular single layer DVD disc is not recommended. The loss in quality is usually very high. It is recommended to backup just the feature film to reduce the compression needed. There are however a smaller amount of movies, particularly older ones that are only single layer (less than 4.38 GB). These would be fine to copy in their entirety. To determine the size of the DVD open up Windows Explorer (double click on 'My Computer') and look at the size. If it is less than 4.38 GB you know it won't need compression, otherwise it will.

If you are copying just the feature film we recommend using the language button to select only one language. It will save more space and improve video quality further.  

The target folder in this case cannot be changed as it is going to be going directly to the DVD burner (if you have more then one burner you can select which one you want to use in the options menu as seen below).

Insert the name of the DVD. For compatibility with more DVD players, always use capitals. If you want a space, use an underscore instead (example: LITTLE_MERMAID).

If you decide to use the default options, click start and your backup will begin. We were impressed at how simple the program really was. Even a computer novice shouldn't have much problem understanding how to use it.

Help:

Finally, the last button is the help button. It will produce a standard windows help screen with a few details on how to use the program. However, don't expect a lot of real help here because we found it to be very sparse. It only has a brief introduction to the program, a couple sentences about what each button does and half of a page on what to include on any customer service inquiries. It would be nice in a future release for 123 DVD Copy to beef up this section. FAQ's and more detailed instructions (on the options menu for example) would be needed for those less computer savvy users. The saving grace is that the program is very simple to use and most people probably would have never used the help file anyway.
