DVD-R media write quality:

In these tests we will be using a Lite-On SOHW-1693S drive with firmware KS0B along with K-Probe to measure the disc quality. We will also be using the NEC ND-3540A with firmware 1.03 for our read-back tests. Please read page 5 if you need explanations on how to interpret the write quality result.

DVD-R/RW Summary:

For DVD-RW, all results are very good with smooth read-back curve. However, in the area of DVD-R the drive writes some 16x rated media at 12x only.

Excellent review. Thank you guys.

I might add that'd been using this drive for 2 years and works great. The only negative so far its that the tray doesn't work automatically now so I have to push it in but still comes out alone.
Overall good drive. ;)
