DVD-R media compatibility and write quality:

 


 

* Started at 4x '? but downshifted to 2.4x almost immediately.

Even if the reading curve shows no problems we are still not too happy with the result. First it decreased the speed to 2.4x and the PI error level is much higher than usual with this media. Room for improvements BenQ!

Among the better result we have had with Princo, but the disc we used were from a very good batch of Princo media. Notice that the quality of Princo DVD-R discs varies greatly, and that most of the Princo DVD-R media available has very low quality.

It seems that BenQ DW822A and Lead Data DVD-R are not the best combination. Some other writers have no problems with this media, so there is room for improvement from BenQ. We do not recommend this media with this drive.
