Conclusion

Conclusion:

Overall I think this is a good program that is easy to use for beginners and more advanced users. It has a set of features that make it a snip to remove unwanted video or audio from your new movie while still keeping everything else that you want. Looking at this application we can see that it is quite a powerful application that can create a great backup movie. That being said, you will need additional tools to backup copy protected movies.

The problem that I see with the program is that if you want to make a backup of a non protected movie then you can just do a straight disc to disc copy. This program only come into its own when you need to convert from a DVD-9 down to a DVD-5 most likely when you want to backup a bought DVD. Which means that you will still need a 3rd party application to do this. Although not a major problem these days it does mean that you are reliant on another program.

There are still a lot of positives from this application. The layout and design are nice, functional and uncluttered. Add that to the movies that it can create without losing much if any quality and you have the start of a fantastic program.

The final point though is when you compare the price of the application to others that are out there, it does seem a little high. This is a new application in many ways though and so hopefully with a bit more time and a few more features this can become the definitive DVD backup program.

I think this program although not quite there yet is going to be one to watch in the future.

Not being able to FF above 2x may have been because of the DVD writer/Media combination. Not the program itself.

One way to fin out is to try a different media and or writer combination and see what happens.

Nice review.
