DVD-R DL - Video Writing:
Pioneer DVR-109D:
We created a new compilation using Nero 6 and wrote it using the Disc-at-once writing method:

Verbatim DVD-R9 Dual layer 4x written at 6x. Total writing time is 19 minutes and 51 seconds.

Not bad at all, considering this media was written at 6x. The read-back curve is perfect.
NEC ND-3520AW:
Again, we created a new compilation using Nero 6 and wrote it using the Disc-at-once writing method:

Verbatim DVD-R9 Dual layer 4x written at 4x. Total writing time is exactly 27 minutes.

The result is good, but we can see that there are more PIF errors on the 2nd layer. The reading curve is perfect.
On the next page we are going to test the compatibility…..

Wow, this review really made me think twice about DVD-R DL media. I would never have thought these would me that incompatible with DVD players. I don't own a DVD burner yet but now I know it's support for burning DVD-R DL media won't play a major role since I will probably not buy such discs and will go for DVD+R DL.
