DVD+R DL 8x - Video Writing:
BenQ DW1640:

From the quality scan, we can see that there are some high PIF spikes between the 1 GB and 2 GB point, but since they are 'single" spikes - it should not interfere with the playback ability too much.
Lite-On SHW-1635S:

The
Lite-On SHW-1635S reported 'WRITE ERROR (030C00)" close to the 5.2 GB
point.
NEC ND-4550A:

As mentioned with the BenQ 1640, the NEC burned media also has those high PIF 'single" spikes between the 1 GB and 2 GB. The PIE errors are considered high between the 2 GB and 4 GB point, where the NEC wrote the media at 8x Z-CLV on the first layer.
Pioneer DVR-110D:

The Ricoh DVD+R DL 8x media seams not to be supported by the Pioneer DVR-110D at 8x with the tested firmware, as the drive reported a writing speed of only 2.4x. We decided not to write this media with the Pioneer DVR-110D, because of the low write speed.
On the next page we are going to test the compatibility…..

Can`t wait to try those at 6x
