DVD-R media compatibility and write quality
In these tests we will be using a Lite-On DH20A3P drive along with Nero CD-DVD Speed to measure the disc quality. We will also be using the BenQ DW1650 along with Nero CD-DVD Speed for our read-back tests.





The media burned with good results. Low jitter average and a smooth transfer curve.





The TY media burns with very good results, low jitter and the Transfer Rate test has a smooth curve.





This verbatim media burns with excellent results, smooth read curve and again low jitter.





The FujiFilm media burns with excellent results.

DVD-RW media compatibility and write quality
We used the same test procedures as in our DVD-R tests.

The LG GGW-H20L burned our RiDATA test media with excellent results.
Summary
Overall, the LG GGW-H20L did a good job with our DVD-R/RW test media; we would have liked to have seen better performance with our DVD-RW test media.

Can this burner overburn CD media?


Before I buy it I want to be sure I am getting what I want. What I want is to make a back-up copy of my Blu-ray library as I build it so my kids won't cost me an arm and a leg for each disc they destroy.
