| Description | 18x DVD burner Supports DVD-RAM |
DVD-R media writing quality:
In these tests we will be using a Lite-On LH-18A1P drive along with KProbe 2 to measure disc quality. We will also be using a BenQ DW1640 and Nero CD-DVD Speed for our transfer rate tests.

A very fast 18x burn, only 5 minutes and 2 seconds. Outstanding quality, too.
This media is well suited for 18x burns.

An excellent quality burn, as expected with Taiyo Yuden media.

A very fast 16x burn, only 5 minutes and 36 seconds. Quality is good, and a transfer rate test shows no issues.

This burn looks very good. Achieving a good quality burn with the media that has often been a challenge to other drives.

A very fast 18x burn with excellent quality. TYG03 is one of the best 18x media, and LG GSA-H22N handles it extremely well.

The LG GSA-H22N lacks a 16x strategy for this 16x-certified media. The burn took almost 15 minutes with the default 4x strategy. Burn quality is good.

Burn time of 9 minutes is a little on the slow side, but we can't argue with the result. The total PIF number of 32 indicates near-perfect media, near-perfectly burned at its rated speed. DVD burns don't get much better than this.
DVD-ReWritable media:

This Verbatim media produces an acceptable but far from stellar quality burn.

PIF numbers are out of the normal range, indicating potential reading problems in some devices, but a transfer rate test shows no problems when the disc is read in another drive.

This is about as good as it gets with DVD-RW media.
Summary:
The LG GSA-H22N produced excellent results on most of our DVD-R media but was only acceptable with DVD-RW media.

i cannot burn a dvd multisession because i get "are you sure you want to burn multisession? any further session will not be recognized by your operating sistem" or something like this every time i want to start a multisession disc. if i select to continue i am able to write another session on the disc but this ruins it because it becomes somehow unreadable. can this be because the write mode is "disc at once" and not "track ar once"?
i tried to change it to track at once but the field for this option is not active so i can't
PLEASE help

Glad to see it isn't me! Excellent drive otherwise, reasonably quiet, extreemly fast and doesn't mind my dirt cheap no name disks.

earlier it used to write in 10 mins.
plz help me

It destroys DVD+RW media: I have new discs that are supposed to be good for 1000 re-writes but after 10 burns or less I started getting a message like, "this disc is nearing the end of its useful life." I have never seen this before in all my years of burning discs, and it does not happen when I burn these same discs in my BenQ. Also, I find that other drives have trouble reading DVD+R's that were burned with this LG. I replaced it with a Sony-NEC-Optiarc AD-7173A that seems to be much better. I will be very reluctant to ever get another LG. [And by the way, I did do the firmware update but it is very hard to find these updates on LG's website.]
