Conclusion:
As this drive is based on the
internal version of Lite-On SHW-1635S, we did not include to many performance
tests in this Lite-On EZ-DUB SHW-1635SU mini-review, as we have concentrated
more on the EZ-DUB feature.
However, for those who are interested in a more detailed review, we would recommend you to read the Lite-On SHW-1635S review we did back in 2005. (It can be found here.)
To sum it all up, this is what we would say:
"This is an interesting drive exhibiting good overall performance characteristics. With the addition of the EZ-DUB feature, even a novice should be able to quickly duplicate a CD or DVD. We found that creating custom made archival discs by using the 'FILE" button, was convenient and intuitive as well, due to the EZ-DUB software interface. EZ-DUB manages to strike a pretty good balance too, as it can probably satisfy many of the needs of even advanced users."
By using our price grabber feature cdfreaks.pricegrabber we did not find any offers, but we found the drive at getprice and it is listed at 98 €. (January 2006).
