Although the result is very good there is still room for improvement as some other writers is able to write these with even better quality.

Although the result is not as good as for the Mitsubishi DVD+R disc the quality is still more than acceptable according to both the reading curve and the K-probe scan. Highly recommended discs.

The result with these Memorex DVD-R discs manufactured by CMC Magnetics is simply outstanding. Highly recommended discs, but notice that the quality of CMC Magnetics manufactured discs varies from brand to brand and batch to batch.

Also some highly recommended discs as both K-Probe and the reading curve shows more than acceptable results.

These discs are not supported by the drive and fails at 1X. Stay away from these until Lite-On updates the firmware to support them.

The drive did surprisingly good on these princo DVD-R discs. Princo is known as one of the manufacturers with less than perfect quality discs. These discs should not cause you any trouble at all.

There is only one reason why we include a second type of princo discs; to show the difference in quality of princo discs. These discs have a bit different ADIP and serial number, and according to our test results the quality of these discs is much lower than the other princo type we have. And we could see that the amount of errors is many times higher on these discs. Actually the disc is so bad that the amount of errors exceeds the standards at the end, and sure enough; this is also visible on the reading curve. Still notice that the result is not bad compared to many other DVD-Writers.

The overall error level on these discs is pretty high so we can't recommend them. Notice that the quality of these discs is very low; so do not blame the drive for writing these discs incorrectly.

The write quality on these discs is not the best, but still acceptable. There is room for improvements though, as these discs works better in some other writers.

Now this is some really bad discs, and we expected the result to be bad. But the result is not as bad as expected though when we compare the result to other writers. But you should still stay away from these discs.

This media also exceeds the standard, but just slightly. There is room for improvement to write quality on these as some other writers is able to write them with better quality.

This is another media type that is not supported in the firmware. To our experience the write quality is so low on unsupported discs that we do not see a reason to test these discs. Stay away from these discs, at least until Lite-On ads support for them in the firmware.

Actually these discs are pretty good and we could recommend them without any problems at all.

Notice that we had limited amount of media available due to limited amount of media available in Norwegian stores. Discs that we would like to include in our reviews: Maxell, pioneer, prodisc and optodisc 4X certified DVD media. But currently discs from these manufacturers are not found in Norway.

Overall we are very satisfied with the results as none of the written discs was unreadable, like for most other writers we have reviewed. But there is still room for improvements; a few types are not supported in the firmware and write quality could hopefully be better on a few types of discs. But we hope and believe that this will be fixed by firmware upgrades.
