- Key chain supplied
- Inexpensive to purchase.
- Handy encryption and compression application.
Negative:
- Slightly low storage capacity by today’s standards.
Conclusion:
Let us summarize the most important positive and negative points below:
The main positive points:
The Maxell Maxstix is very cute indeed and I loved the colour of the device. It’s nice to see a manufacturer thinking of women for a change and offering a device that doesn’t look all macho. The maxstix is also available in a light blue and dark blue, as well as the cute pink colour.
The Maxstix performance was also good for this type of device and the supplied encryption and compression application adds to the Maxell Maxstix appeal.
The compact size of the Maxell Maxstix also makes the flash drive easy to carry around. I have mine on my car keys and it fits neatly into my purse.
The price of the Maxell Maxstix 1GB USB flash drive is also very competitive at £6.99 inc VAT.
The main negative points:
None at all really, at £6.99 one really can’t complain about 1GB of storage at this price.
To sum up, this is what we would say:
“It’s cute and does exactly what it’s supposed to do”.
Because of the price and performance of the Maxell Maxstix 1GB flash drive, we decided to award the drive our CD Freaks “Safe Buy” award.

We found the Maxell Maxstix 1GB flash drive at Ryman for £6.99 Inc VAT.

price is cheap, but performance?? Read speed is low 15mb/s and write speed less than 10mb/s. Not a top notch performance. Other USB drives can do lot faster.
And who use 1GB these days?
