Writing quality on Optodisc 4x DVD-RW is also good. The PI/PIF spike near the end of the Kprobe is due to a small scratch on the disc, and should not be attributed to the burn quality.
DVD-R/RW Performance Summary: The Memorex DVD+/-RWN16 D2 excelled in the area of DVD-R/RW writing quality and compatibility. Almost all discs burned with good quality and all tested discs were supported at the certified speed or faster. We also enjoyed the capability to burn some 8x certified discs at 12x or 16x, again with good quality.

DVD+R/RW Writing Performance
I'm sure users that have the drive will appreciate the review!
In addition, users that have the 1673S version (which uses the same enclosure) can benefit from viewing the USB2 and Firewire bridge limitations that I have detailed in this review.
Called their "technical support" and got some guy in the Phillipines blaming windoz XP updates.
