The package:
In the package we find the following things:
The drive:
The drive itself has the classic front side of all previous Mitsumi drives. There you can find an eject-button, a busy/write lead, a headphone jack and a slot form manually ejecting the tray.
There are no surprises on the back of the drive also; just the typical IDE and power connectors, the master/slave jumpers and the SPDIF (analogue/digital) output connectors.
The drive was manufactured in June and was already updated with the 1.0D firmware version when we received it.
The software
As already mentioned before, the drive comes Nero 5.5 Burning software, which doesn't really need an introduction. Nero is considered by most of us as the user's best choice for his mastering needs. InCD is also a very popular program packet writing software. With this software you can format a CD-RW disc and use it as a large floppy disc. InCD also supports the 'Mount Rainier' (CD-MRW) format, which we'll also get back to later on in this review when we test the CR485CTE's CD-MRW performance.
Now lets take a look at the features of the Mitsumi 485CTE…

hey there, just wanted to say that the drives were also sold as a medion md5277
with a 2 yr warranty. It came with nero 5.5
and a very detailed dutch manual. I am now working with firmware 3.0d, and using tdk 800 mb cdrs very happyly with it. Also the svcd burning is working very good with this drive.
