Notes:
LightScribe V1.2:
The LightScribe v1.2 has a new coating that can make the label write speed up to 30% faster compared to the first generation of LightScribe media.

The estimated writing time for a full label in Best mode will be around 19 minutes with LightScribe v1.2 and around 23 minutes compared to the first generation of LightScribe.

LightScribe ELCU (Extended Label Contrast Utility):
This utility will
give a higher contrast to your LightScribe designs; however a longer labeling
will occur on both LightScribe generations (LightScribe and LightScribe
v1.2)
Performance when compared to original Best Mode:

The estimated writing time for a full label in Best mode with the ELCU will be around 25 minutes with LightScribe v1.2 and around 31 minutes compared to the first generation of LightScribe.

Personally, I welcome the change of background colours, even though I don't think it's a massively big deal, the price difference is fairly small, and it breaks the monotony.

Printers and ink are dirt cheap. The latest Canon iP4300 is $70 and the carts can be refilled for $1 per cart.
Eventually Lightscribe will surpass inkjet printables....I hope.

For this reason I love lightscribe even with its limitations, FYI there is a download on www.lightscribe.com which increases the contract of lightscribe burners, it works too.

I don't mean that to stop using the printer when its arrives. We will have to check the quality and see how usefull it can be...

thx
