Designing and burning with Nero:
The Philips DVDR16LS retail box, came with Nero LightScribe edition, and was immediately updated to the latest available version.

Then we clicked on Print LightScribe Label icon from the Nero StartSmart window. The LightScribe feature can also be called from the Burn Compilation inside Nero Burning room. See the 2 pictures below.

We made a quick test layout with Nero Cover Designer (LightScribe).

Then we clicked on Print Label (LightScribe).

We selected the option 'Best" on 'Print contrast" and clicked on Print. Please note, the program reported an estimated remaining time of 23m and 32 seconds. But when we timed the total writing time, the stopwatch reported 25 minutes and 14 seconds.

The print process completed successfully, let us take a look at the result.

The result is relative good and seams to be ok. (Please bear in mind that these images are severely compressed JPEGs as well and some of the additional contrast is lost due to this).
But wait a minute, what about the inner ring with those barcode/indexing marks? Let's try to burn the disc again using the 'Best" mode, to see if there is going to be any differences or if the drive 'screws up" the print process.

Excellent! As we can see from the picture above the indexing capability of the hardware and software are very, very good. We can also now rest assured that we could re-use a disc many times to add additional information to the label if we wished. Could be handy indeed!

Still only one officially supported DVD+R DL media (no -R DL support):
MKM_____001 (Verbatim 2,4x)
