What's inside the box?

Since our sample was a pre-production unit and evaluation sample, there was no retail package included with the device.

Now it's time to take a look at the drive itself.

The bezel of the Plextor PlexEraser PX-0E100E is very similar to the ones used on Plextor PX-755 and PX-760. On the tray we can see various logo's, and we can also see an emergency eject hole, a dual coloured green/amber operation LED, and an orange eject button.

Top

On the top of the drive we found one sticker witch contains a warning. Together with a Blue power LED.

The loading tray of the PlexEraser is orange to prevent wrong destruction of data, and there is also another warning label located on the loading tray.

Side

Underside

On the underside of the drive we found two stickers. On one of the stickers we can see that the device was made in Japan, July 2006. The other sticker is an information sticker that the device is just a sample product and not a final product.

On the back of the drive there are a power ON/OFF switch and the power connector.

A picture of the AC power adaptor.

Now, let us install the drive and destroy some media…
