Basic testing: disc to disc & streaming

Disc-to-Disk copy:

Prassi supports also Disc to Disc copying. This is a feauture that we won't use often with the Primera Duplicator. This feature is very risky and thus could result in unstable writing.

When doing this it is in any case adviced to turn on the Burn-proof-function to prevent yourself from coasters. The Primera duplicator has the Burn-proof function of the Sanyo drives disabled in the standard configuration.

Stream Mode:

The stream mode might be one of the most important features for many companies. This mode combines handfree production with flexibility.

In other words: batch mode processing. These words may now all "fuzz" in your head, and you probably wonder how deep this review really gets... (we are still human, not ? hehe) Well don't worry, we'll explain it nice and simple...

  • You come in the office, you're darn boss wants you to duplicate 100 CDR's. Well, he picked the right time... you're dying for a nice cup of coffee and you want to read the newspaper. On top of this he gives you an extra.

  • He doesn't only want 100 copies, but he wants 10 copies of 10 masters making it virtually impossible for you to fullfill your own wishes (the paper and coffee)

  • This is what batch processing is all about. The Primera Composer lets you do this whole job unattended. That means reading the paper, drinking coffee and making money... (that is what I usually do, though...)

Now how does this work ?

You place the first master on top of the input hopper , followed by the quantity of empty cdr's the first job requires. Under this pile you place the second master, followed by again the required amount of empty cdr's needed for the second job, andso. Easy and effective, isn't it ? Now the good news is not finished yet. The Primera Composer Pro can function in a network envoirement, making it possible for making duplications from distance.

For example if you're company has a cd-rom raid server containing hundreds of cd-roms, it is possible picking some out and making backup's from you're desk. All you got to to is at the appropriate moment smile at the coffee-lady (or man, not to make any prejudice) and ask her/him to put another 100 empty cdr's in the input hopper...

As a test we had 4 different masters and we placed two empty cdr between each master. We repeated this test three times. The test performed flawless making it a valuable piece of hardware in a true office envirement.

    Conclusion:

  • Batch duplication plays a key role in a duplication process.
  • It provides the duplicator with unattended secure and fast results. This mode shows the strong points of the Primera Composer Pro.
  • It is the ideal solution for intense small duplication needs in an office envirement.
