The Printer:
Now this is supposed to be the add-on of the duplicator. But we can tell you that the duplicator is built around the printer, since this was Primera's first core bussiness.
The Duplicator just made the perfect combination for their printer.
Recently Primera brought out their atest CD-printer, the Signature Pro. It is the ultimate product in the ink-jet CD-printer range.
The printer is capable of performing photo-quality printouts of 2400 dpi on to a printable CD-R. The result is very impressive.
Since we were very keen to receive some more information we contacted Primera again and asked the following questions:
On which printer is the signature pro based (it looks like tweaked Lexmark-technology)?
The SignaturePro is actually based on Primera's Signature IV CD Color Printer. We've increased print resolution to 2400 dpi, we've doubled ink capacity and increased the print speed of a full-color, 100% coverage disc to just 16 seconds. With regard to Lexmark, it is a Primera engineered product based on a Lexmark engine design.
How many CDR's can be printed with the cartridges ? Are there compatible cartridges or must you use the ones from Primera ?
Prints per two cartridges vary depending on the coverage, ink-color, print quality and design. However, SignaturePro can print about 150-200 discs in full-color with 90% coverage on two ink cartridges: one monochrome black and one cmy color. Depending on design, one cartridge may run out before the other. These cartridges are proprietary, so you must purchase them from Primera Technology.
The market on cdprinting, how is it developing ? and what is the demand ?
The CD/DVD printing market is ever increasing. As applications continue to grow in vertical markets. Businesses, production houses, music groups, replication facilities, advertising agencies, high schools and much more are using printers like SignaturePro to store data, music, video, graphic images and software with a high-quality, professional look.
how is the popularity on this area:
The Tuff-Coat silver printable discs are the number one seller followed by the Tuff-Coat white printable surface disc. Waterproof discs are available, however they are not sold by Primera Technology. Therefore, I cannot estimate their sales or demand.
Does Primera offer solutions on this type for 8cm or bussinesscard (in means of a special tray or something...) ?
A CD business card adapter kit is available for SignaturePro, Signature IV, and the Composer Optical Disc Duplicator. The kit retails for $199USD. The business card adapter kit is only suitable for rectangular business cards. We hope to add 80mm mini discs, too.
Conclusion:
Even without the duplicator Composer this printer is a real highly recommended gadget. It let's you publish your cdr's as professional as a CDR can get....

so i take it that you can not copy safe disk 1 or 2 discs with this product........When will we see a product that can do something like that......That would be awsome.
