| Description | Sonic Scenarist is the de-facto standard for commercial DVD title production in Hollywood and top post facilities worldwide. Scenarist users rely time and again on Scenarist for highly-featured productions with the confidence of ultimate compatibility across the broadest range of DVD players. |
Sonic Solutions, the company that recently aquired Roxio, has send us a press release announcing that it has filed suit against Nero AG and it's affiliate in the United States, Nero Inc. The company is claiming that Nero is infriging on Sonic's U.S. Patent No. 6,204,840 which has been filed in 1998 and relates to certain techniques for 'digital multimedia composition'.
Among other applications, the patent covers improved ways to create digitial videos using a graphical 'storyline' to sequence individual video segments.

I wonder if we can patent breathing. Then sue everyone who breathes.
Nah sounds like something I am sure the MPAA or the RIAA would have thought of

You would have thought that Sonic would have brought suit a little earlier if there was any issues with infringement.
Isn't greed a wonderful thing
