Creating a Video Disc

We will be choosing to make a DVD Video Disc for this test.

Here we have the option to Add Media from different sources:

  • Capture videos from a video device
  • Add video files
  • Create a slideshow
  • Import DVD-Video or DVD-VR files from a disk or hard drive

We are going to select Capture videos from a video device and our source will be a Winfast Analog TV card. What we really like about this is that you can stop the capture and change the channel and start again as often as you like. You can also Set Auto Capture and record any channel at anytime for any duration.

After we have recorded our video the next step gives us the option to Edit our media, it even has an Ad-Zapper to detect and remove commercials.

Next we can add a Menu to our video, choose from the Gallery and or Edit it if we wish.

Next we are ready to create our Disc. We have three options on how we would like our output. We can Burn to DVD, Create to Disk (this will make VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders) or we can Create an ISO Image. We can select any or all of these options at the same time.

Before we burn the project, we choose the “More Settings for burning” icon on the bottom left which looks like this:

Based on the inserted media, we can select the burn speed and other settings.

Straight Capture

Now lets move on to Straight Capture, here we will make a VCD direct from our TV source.

We set the timer for 15 minutes of record time, clicked capture and the program records until 15 minutes is up and then burns the CD.

If we saved our project, we have the ability to open them up and edit them, we also can select the Burn from the Disc Image or DVD Folders if we made them.

Slideshow

Next let’s make a Slideshow Disc, we will make an SVCD this time. We also have the option to add menus as we did with the Create DVD Video Disc.

Next we can edit our slideshow and remove or add pictures easily. We can add sound files to go with our slide show as well.

Now we are ready to burn our slideshow, again we also have the option to make an ISO image.

Before you burn the project, you can select the burn speed and other settings by clicking the  icon on the bottom left.

If we saved our project, we have the ability to open them up and edit them, we can burn the Burn from the Disc Image or DVD Folders if we made them.

On the next page we will take a look at creating a Blu-ray disc function.

:)

I always wanted the Conclusion page to be the first. Saves time.

Thanks for that CDFreaks.com

This change is welcome.
This is a pretty good review-- I can tell the software seems much more usable than previous versions. But could you compare it to other programs? Is it better than Nero, for instance?
