Program Run Through:
This is the first screen of ConvertXToDVD. As we can see it has a very clean interface with all of the key functions of the program located in the icons on the right hand side of the program.

The buttons in order are:
-
To add a file
-
Remove a file
-
Information on a file
-
Move a file up in the order
-
Move a file down in the order
-
Configuration panel
-
Preview
At the very bottom of the screen is the Convert button. Once all of our movies have been placed into the window and some blank media has been placed into the drive you can simply click this button and the program will do the rest.
Now let's take a quick look at some of those settings.

We can see quite a lot of options to play around with. Here we have decided to take a look at the General ones, as this is where we can change our working folder on our computer and set up a different skin for the program. We can also set the option here for the program to regularly check the Internet for updates and if you install them as it finds them or to prompt you to install them later.
Generally VSO Software updates their programs quite regularly with bug fixes, stability fixes and additional features, so this is certainly one option that it is worthwhile turning on.
Now, lets move on to the Encoding settings.

Here we can set the encoding quality and speed settings for the outputted movie. We can chose between three different settings:
-
Medium Quality / encoding Speed (Recommended)
-
Low Quality / Fast Encoding
-
High Quality / Slow Encoding
The final option here is the Target Size. This is to let the program know what the required size of disc it is being asked to fit the movie onto. If we specify DVD-9 then it will be free to use up to ~8.5 GB of space.
The last option here allows us to set the Conversion priority. With this option we can choose how many resources of our system are used/reserved for encoding with ConvertXToDVD.
Now we will take a look at the burning settings.

Here we need to specify your burner along with a couple of other options. One nice option is to add the original media files to the same disc as the DVD movie, which is just created. This is so that we can get them off the hard disc but to have them still available in their original format. Who knows, we may want to do something else with them.
The delete folder option refers to the 'Working Folder" that the program uses. This is something to turn on if we are planning to make a lot of DVD's, as they will soon eat up vast chunks of the hard drive.
Now let's move onto the Authoring and Chapter settings.

Here we can set up the general settings for one of the new features in this software. ConvertXToDVD is able create menus on the outputted DVDs. This is quite useful when a DVD with some episodes of your favourite TV series will be created or when we simply want to create a DVD with two or more movies on it.

This screen is basically for inserting chapters into your movie. This is so we can jump ahead in the movie instead of having to forward through the entire thing to get to a certain part in it. The most important settings are done.
Now let's have a look on how we can set up the application to appear while we are working and building our DVD.
Application appearance:
There are three important options which can be found under the window menu. These are Video Preview, Information and Log.

This is the Video Preview screen. Here we can see how the converted movie will show up on a standalone DVD player.

The next one is Information. This will give us details on the entire collection of movies that we have added to the program or individual files that we can click on.

The third and final one is the Log. This can be helpful if things don't go as expected but also tell us what the program is up to do.

All three windows can of course be open at the same time in the same program window.

By clicking on them and dragging them, they can be pulled out of the program to have there own separate windows. The preview window will now also change size depending upon the original source video. So if we have a 4:3 ratio video, the preview window will be 4:3. However if we have the widescreen 16:9 video, then it will change shape so that it doesn't distort the video.

Now let's try Creating A Movie
