Creating A Movie:
Once you have all of your settings done, the rest of the program is very easy to use.
First, you need to add the video file that you want to convert. You can do this by using the File menu or by clicking on the Add button on the right hand side of the screen. You can also just drag and drop the files into the main window.

This will take you to the following window. If you have more than one media file in the same location, the program will allow you to add them all in one go. Here, I am adding a DivX rip from a DVD that I made with DivX 5.1.

Now the file has been added, its details can be viewed on the main screen. At the bottom of the screen, you can see a guideline as to how much space the DVD movie will take up.

By clicking on the Plus symbols in the main window, you will get some additional information about the file properties.

As I added a normal AVI file here, there are no subtitles with it. However, you can add a subtitle channel to the project from another source if you wish to. To do this, you first need to highlight the subtitle area in the main window.

Then you chose the 'Add Subtitle Channel" option from the file menu. This will then take you to a window where you can choose your subtitle channel file to load. Generally this will only be available from a ripped DVD.

As you can now see, the subtitle has now been added to the project.

The final set of options available that can be of use here are found under the Window menu. These are Video Preview, Information and Log.

This is the Video Preview screen. This is so you can get the order of your movies correct if you have more than one.

The next one is Information. Here, this will give you overview details on the entire collection of movies that you have added to the program or individual files that you click on.

The third and final one is the Log. This can be helpful if things don't go as expected, but also tell you what the program is up to.

All three windows can of course be open at the same time in the same program window.

By clicking on them and dragging them they can be pulled out of the program to have their own separate windows. The preview window will now also change size depending upon the original source video. So if you have a 4:3 ratio video, the preview window will be 4:3. However if you have the widescreen 16:9 video, then it will change shape so that it doesn't distort the video.

Well, that's about it for the program. Now let's see how it performs.
Now let's convert the movie....

bye herny

Of the programs I've played with only DVDSanta allows you to specify the resolution.

This software is one of the worst of its kind. I've tested more than 10.
My rank:
6.5/10 - output quality
3/10 - smoth playback (23.976 > 25fps sucks)
9/10 - easy to work
It have good potencial if they correct the smoth problem in all conversions I've made ntsc > pal (every second looks like is missing frames) and If the output quality gets a little better.
winavi and dvdsanta are not better than this program (they are faster but not better) and they dont suport selectable subtitles. Just google a little and you will find FREE better programs that will do all this with better quality. they are difficult to learn in the down side.
just my 2cents..
